The Board of County Commissioners are the elected representatives of the people of Lyon County. By law, the commissioners are required to manage county property, to examine and settle all accounts of the receipts and expenses of the county, to oversee roads and bridges, to contract for the protection and promotion public health and welfare, and to perform such other duties as are or may be prescribed by law.
Action Sessions are held on Thursday mornings at 9 a.m. in the commission chambers of the Lyon County Courthouse. Study Sessions may be scheduled by the commission chair at other times and also take place in the commission chambers.
Persons requiring special accommodation (i.e., qualified interpreter, hearing assistance, etc.) to participate in a commission meeting should notify the Lyon County Clerk (620) 341-3245 no later than 48 hours prior to the scheduled commencement of the meeting.
