Appointments: Ken Duft has resigned from the Lyon County Fair Board as of November 14, 2022. The Lyon County Fair Board recommends the approval of Josh Duft as his replacement

Motion: To Approve Josh Duft as a Lyon County Fair Board member to replace Ken Duft. His term will expire on December 31, 2023.

Personnel changes: no action taken.

Permits: no action taken.

Jeanine McKenna presented the Commissioners with a detailed update on Ignite Emporia. A lot of progress is being made and everything is going well. Controller Williams presented the Commissioners with a request to consider a contribution to Ignite Emporia. This will be number 3 of 5 payments for the previously agreed upon $100,000.00 over a 5 year period. This amount had been budgeted.

Motion: To Approve the contribution to Ignite Emporia in the amount of $20,000.00, to be paid from Fund 017-00-7391. Briggs/Martin 3-0

Reports
Commissioner Martin:
• Next week I will be going to the Council on Aging meeting which is next Monday afternoon.
• I will be meeting with Emporia State University representative, Don Hill, next Monday afternoon.

Commissioner Peck:
• Last Friday I attended the RDA meeting in person.
• This Friday I will meet with ESU representative, Don Hill.

Commissioner Briggs:
• I met with Don Hill on Friday, along with commissioner elect Ken Duft.

Deputy Clerk Torres:
• No Report

Counselor Goodman:
• I attended the RDA meeting with Molly Priest.

Controller Williams:
• No Report

Chip Woods presented Commissioners with a request to consider closing Main Street in Americus for the Christmas Parade.

Motion: To Approve the request from the City of Americus to close Main Street in Americus, Kansas, being County Road F, or Americus Road, from Walnut Street to Broadway Street on Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the Annual Lighted Christmas Parade. Martin/Peck 3-0

Motion: To move to a Short Legal Executive Session for Data Exchange with Commissioners, Controller Williams, Counselor Goodman, Counselor Halleran and Counselor Priest, to return at 9:45 a.m. Martin/Briggs 3-0
