The Board of Lyon County Commissioners met in Action Session at 9:00 a.m. in the Commission Chambers with the following people in attendance:

Motion: To Approve Payroll Payable 4-12-2024 in the amount of $344,469.84. Martin/Duft 3-0
Motion: To Approve Payroll Withholdings Payable 4-12-2024 in the amount of $255,108.76. Martin/Peck 3-0

Commissioners discussed a proclamation for ECKAN.
Motion: To Proclaim the ECKAN Community Action 60th Anniversary and May 2024 Community Action Month.

Personnel changes: no action taken.
Permits: no action taken.
Roxy Van Gundy presented Commissioners with a request to consider a proclamation for the National Public Safety Telecommunicator Week.
Motion: To Proclaim National Public Safety Telecommunicator Week April 14th – 20th, 2024, in Lyon County, Kansas.

Motion: To move to Non-Elected Personnel Executive Session for confidential data with Commissioners, Chip Woods,
Jim Brull, Matt Baysinger, Dan Williams, and Alicia Rumold to return at 9:45 a.m. Martin/Peck 3-0
Meeting reconvened at 9:50 a.m.
Public comment: no one present.
Reports
Commissioner Martin:
- Attended the Lyon County Extension Board meeting.
- Next week is the meeting with Jim Witt.
- ESU Groundbreaking ceremony is April 24th.
Commissioner Peck:
- RDA meeting is tomorrow.
Commissioner Duft:
- Attended the LEPC meeting.
- Attended RDA Task Force meeting.
- Viewed a road east of town.
- Attended the Fair Board meeting and Citizens Academy.
- Tomorrow is the Ignite Emporia meeting.
Clerk Vopat:
- Deputy Clerk Amie Jackson and I attended the Sanborn training session in Manhattan last week. We had a record attendance of 85, and the conference was a great training opportunity.
- Congratulations Shayla Gaulding on Journalist of the Year Award.
Counselor Priest:
- RDA meeting is tomorrow.
Controller Williams:
- RDA meeting.
- Attended the Fair Board meeting.
- Meeting with City of Emporia officials.
Motion: To move to Legal Executive Session for confidential data with Commissioners, Controller Williams, and
Counselor Priest, to return at 10:40 a.m. Martin/Duft 3-0
