LYON COUNTY COMMISSION MINUTES
MARCH 7, 2024
The Board of Lyon County Commissioners met in Action Session at 9:00 a.m. in the Commission Chambers with the following people in attendance:

Call to Order / Pledge of Allegiance
Motion: To Approve the Agenda as presented. Martin/Duft 3-0
Motion: To Approve the Minutes of the 2-29-2024 meeting. Duft/Peck 3-0
Motion: To Approve Warrants Payable 3-8-2024 in the amount of $338,195.75. Peck/Duft 3-0
Appointments: Commissioners reviewed an application for the MUP Board.
Motion: To Appoint Jackie Miller to the Multi-Use Path Board for a term expiring 12-31-2026. Martin/Peck 3-0
Motion: To Appoint Jarrod Fell to the Emergency Food and Shelter Program Board for a term to expire
12-31-2024. Martin/Peck 3-0
Personnel changes: no action taken.
Permits: no action taken.
Jarrod Fell presented Commissioners with a request to consider payment to Motorola Solutions for the Year 4 Post Warranty on the radio system.
Motion: To Approve the invoice from Motorola Solutions in the amount of $139,544.00 to be paid from Fund
017-00-9001 for the Year 4 Post Warranty for the county radio system. Duft/Martin 3-0
Chip Woods presented Commissioners with a request to consider a quote from the Fracture Critical Bridge Inspection.
Motion: To Approve the quote from Alfred Benesch & Company for $11,390.00 for the Fracture Critical Bridge
Inspections for Bridge 951.0.524.7 (Bird Bridge) to be paid from Fund 033-00-7601. Martin/Duft 3-0
Reports
Commissioner Martin:
- I attended a meeting with the North Central Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging Board.
- Attended the JEDAC meeting yesterday.
- Next week is the Extension Board meeting.
Commissioner Peck:
- March is Women’s History Month.
- I attended the Boy Scout fund raiser at the Bowyer Building.
- The RDA meeting is tomorrow.
Commissioner Duft:
- Attended the Citizen Academy class.
- Monday is the Fair Board meeting.
Clerk Vopat:
- Voter turnout is very low. We will offer Saturday voting on March 9th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Extension Office.
Counselor Priest:
- Attended JEDAC meeting yesterday.
- The RDA meeting is tomorrow.
- Attended the North Central Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging Board meeting.
Public comment: no one present.
