The Board of Lyon County Commissioners met in Action Session at 9:00 a.m. in the Commission Chambers with the following people in attendance:

Motion: To Approve the Agenda as presented. Martin/Duft 3-0

Motion: To Approve Warrants Payable 8-18-2023 in the amount of $136,977.91. Peck/Duft 3-0

Motion: To Approve canceling Purchase Order #11991 dated 8-30-2022 to IMA, Inc. with a balance remaining of
$9,000.00 for consulting fees 9-15-2022 – 9-15-2023. Martin/Duft 3-0
Note: This contract was terminated and there will be no more billings for this purchase order.
Motion: To Approve canceling Purchase Order #11960 dated 7-20-2021 to Moss Adams LLP with a balance
remaining of $22,728.75 for a feasibility study for Fiber to Premises. Duft/Martin 3-0
Note: This project is complete.
Motion: To Approve canceling Purchase Order #11959 dated 7-20-2021 to RVW, Inc. with a balance remaining
of $9,074.94 for FTTP Design and OPC. Duft/Peck 3-0

Vici Smith presented Commissioners with a request to consider approving updates to the Leave Donation Policy & Procedure form.

Commissioner Martin:
- There was no Extension Board meeting due to the fair.
- I plan to attend the Evergy Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.
- I also plan to attend the Beef Fest dinner.
Commissioner Peck:
- Attended the RDA meeting last Friday.
- I plan to attend the Evergy Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.
Commissioner Duft:
- Attended the fair.
- I plan to attend the Beef Fest and the Evergy Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
Clerk Vopat:
- No report.
Counselor Priest:
- Attended the RDA meeting on Friday.
- I plan to attend the Evergy Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.
Controller Williams:
- I plan to attend the Evergy Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.
- I also plan to attend the Beef Fest.
- Attended the Road & Bridge Project meeting.
Chip Woods presented Commissioners with a request to consider an open cut permit and a quote Telespar Posts and Bases.
Motion: To Approve the Open Cut Permit for Southern Star Gas Pipeline on Road U approximately 2,700 feet south of
Road 170. Peck/Martin 3-0
Motion: To Approve the quote from J&A Traffic Products for Telespar Posts and bases in the amount of $11,440.00 to
be paid from Fund 041-00-8235. Duft/Martin 3-0
Commissioners and Engineer Woods discussed installing directional signs at cemeteries. Commissioners did not give directions to proceed with signage.
Public comment: no one present.
Tobey Kelly presented Commissioners with a request to consider the purchase of six trucks for the Sheriff’s Office fleet. Commissioners gave Tobey direction to initiate the order for the vehicles for delivery in 2024. The purchase price for the vehicles is $304,050.00.
Beverly Hilbish presented Commissioners with a request to consider budget adjustments.
Motion: To Approve the Quarterly Grant Budget Adjustment Report and Signatory Approval in the amount of
$8,060.75. Duft/Peck 3-0
Motion: To Adjourn. Martin/Duft 3-0
There being no further business before the Board, the next Action Session will take place on August 24, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. in the Commission Chambers.
