The Board of Lyon County Commissioners met in Action Session at 9:00 a.m. in the Commission Chambers with the following people in attendance:

Motion: To Approve Warrants Payable 6-23-2023 in the amount of $249,003.94. Peck/Duft 3-0
Motion: To Approve Payroll Payable 6-23-2023 in the amount of $344,723.25. Martin/Duft 3-0
Motion: To Approve Payroll Withholdings Payable 6-23-2023 in the amount of $510,553.16. Martin/Peck 3-0

Permits: Clerk Vopat presented an application for a Cereal Malt Beverage License from Ignacio Velazquez for an event on July 1, 2023.
Motion: To Approve the Cereal Malt Beverage License for Ignacio Velazquez for an event on July 1, 2023.

Jeff Briggs and Robbie Weiss presented Commissioners with a request to consider the purchase of a refurbished X-ray machine for the courthouse.
Motion: To Approve the purchase of a refurbished X-ray machine for the courthouse lobby from Smiths Detection in
the amount of $19,800.00 to be paid from Fund 017-00-9021. Duft/Peck 3-0
Chip Woods and Seth Snyder presented Commissioners with a request to consider a quote to line two culverts on the Americus Road.
Motion: To Approve the quote from Subsurface, Inc., for an estimated $200,000.00 to line two culverts on the Americus
Road for the HRRR Project to be paid from Fund 032-00-7600. Martin/Peck 3-0
Reports
Commissioner Martin:
- Next week is the Council on Aging meeting.
- Next week on the agenda we will consider the 2024 Lyon County budget.
Commissioner Peck:
- Next Wednesday is the Ignite Emporia luncheon.
Commissioner Duft:
- Tuesday is the ribbon cutting for CareArc.
- I will attend the Ignite Emporia luncheon.
Clerk Vopat:
- No report.
Counselor Priest:
- No report.

Janice Huffman presented Commissioners with a request to consider updates on Lyon County policies including: C.O.L.A.; Pregnant Worker’s Fairness Act; Fitness Center; Leave of Absence; FMLA; Leave Donation; Personal Property and the Department Head Manual.
