Jeremiah Corpening, Fair Board Vice President, and Ken Duft, Fair Board Member, presented Commissioners with a request to consider the Lyon County Fair Board 2022 budget.

Motion: To Amend the Agenda to allow for a Non-Elected Personnel Executive Session for Discussion with County Controller with Commissioners and Controller Dan Williams, to return to commission chambers at 9:35 a.m. Martin/Peck 3-0

Chip Woods presented Commissioners with a bid for structural steel H-piling, a bid for structural steel beams and a bid for grader blades.

Motion: To Approve the bid for 50 pieces of 12” Steel “H” Piling from Welborn Sales, Inc. for $54,691.23 to be paid from the Special Bridge Fund [033-00-8350].

Motion: To Approve the low bid for Structural Steel Beams from Husker Steel for $141,250.00 to be paid from the Special Bridge Fund [033-00-8350].

Motion: To Approve the low bid of Foley Equipment for 350 Single Bevel Grader Blades for $32,469.50 to be paid from the Road & Bridge Fund [011-00-8432].

Jeff Cope presented Commissioners with the Sheriff’s Office and Jail 2022 budget request. There was much discussion on the struggle to attract qualified applicants and retain good staff in the sheriff’s department. Sheriff Cope stated that he is very proud of his staff on how they have dealt with the short staff situation, as well as the challenges of last year.

Commissioner Martin:
• Next week, I have the Lyon County Extension Board meeting on Tuesday.
• I will attend the RDA manufactures steak dinner on Thursday.
• There will be no need for a study session next Wednesday.

Commissioner Peck:
• No Report.

Commissioner Briggs:
• No Report.

Deputy Torres:
• No Report.

Controller Williams:
• I met with ValuNet last Tuesday.
• Our H.R. Manager, Janice Huffman, had a baby this week.
• I am currently working on budgets.

Counselor Goodman:
• No Report.

Motion: To move to Legal Executive Session for attorney/client matters to be discussed with Commissioners, Counselor Goodman, Counselor Halleran and Controller Williams, to return to commission chambers at 11:15 a.m. Martin/Peck 3-0
