Mark McKenna presented Commissioners with a request to consider the annual fire alarm and inspection costs for county buildings.

Motion: To Approve the 2021 Tech Electronics Annual Fire Alarm Test & Inspection for the Courthouse Building, for a total of $3,970.00 to be paid from Fund 010-70-7661-10; for the Annex in the amount of $850.00 to be paid from Fund 010-70-7661-09, the Sheriff’s Office/Jail for a total of $7,890.00 to be paid from Fund 010-70-7661-17 and the Anderson/Bowyer Buildings in the amount of $590.00 to be paid from Fund 010-70-7661-12. Peck/Briggs 3-0

Reports
Commissioner Martin:
• I attended the Council on Aging meeting on Monday.
• Wednesday, I participated on the “Vote Yes” KVOE chat.
• Tuesday morning is the JEDAC meeting.
• Veterans Day is Thursday, November 11th, we will hold the Commission meeting on Wednesday, November 10th.

Commissioner Peck:
• Received several phone calls.

Commissioner Briggs:
• My endorsement for Jamie Sauder in the Gazette was my endorsement, and not as County Commissioner.

Clerk Vopat:
• We are setting up the jury assembly room today for election school. I will be teaching election school in 2 sessions tomorrow for 70 election board volunteers.
• The canvass of the 2021 General Election is scheduled for November 9th at 9:00 a.m. in the commission chambers.
• I will be working through the weekend to prepare the tax roll. I received the final levy from Osage County today which will allow me to begin the process.

Counselor Goodman:
• JEDAC meeting is Tuesday.
• The tax sale was last evening. Seven properties were up for sale with six being bid on.

Controller Williams:
• Sales tax numbers are in and above planned.

Public Health Report: Dr. Oyenuga and Renee Hively presented Commissioners with an update on public health. Melissa Smith and Keena Privat updated Commissioners on Environmental Health, Emergency Preparedness, disease, lead poisoning and other programs related to the Health Department. 59% of Lyon County residents have been vaccinated.

Motion: To Adjourn at 11:20 a.m. Martin/Peck 3-0

There being no further business before the Board, the next meeting will take place on Thursday, November 4th at 9:00 a.m.
