Timothy Rogers presented Commissioners with a request to consider red lights and sirens on personal vehicles.

Gary Post, with The Emporia Lions Club, invited Commissioners to the dedication of the Harold Trusler and Cleve Cook Lions Patio. The President will present a check to Commissioners that day. Lunch will be provided. The event will take place on May 19, 2021 at Noon.

Motion: To table the request from Timothy Rogers Fire District #2 (Allen/Admire area) to consider red lights and sirens on personal vehicles until April 22, 2021. Briggs/Peck 2-0

Chip Woods presented Commissioners with a quote for a skid steer and toothed-bucket; a quote for a pile hammer and a quote for engineering services. Lunch will be provided.

Motion: To Approve the quote from Foley Equipment Company for a CAT 299D3XE2C skid steer, a HM418C Cat mulcher and an 84” Cat toothed bucket in the amount of $116,260.00 to be paid from Fund 017-00-9026.
Note: Cost is a Sourcewell price and includes trading in D-145, a 1997 John Deere backhoe.

Motion: To Approve the 2021 bids for Noxious Weed Chemical from Van Diest Supply Company in the amount of $201,343.36 to be paid from Fund 026-00-8330. Briggs/Peck 2-0
Dan Williams presented Commissioners with a request to consider paying APAC for work on the fairgrounds walking trail.

Motion: To Approve the quote from APAC in the amount of $15,151.85 for 1,603.37 tons of AB-3 rock at $9.45 per ton for the Lyon County Fairgrounds walking trail to be paid from Fund 017-00-9050 in lieu of Road and Bridge budget. Peck/Briggs 2-0

Public Health Report: Dr. Oyenuga gave Commissioners an update on Lyon County Public Health. Spoke about the Johnson and Johnson issue. Showed concerns about vaccine hesitancy from community. Vaccines are available for children from 16 and 18 year of age and up depending on the manufacturer. Also, reaching out to ESU and the students there.
