Tobey Kelly presented Commissioners with a request to purchase a camera system for county vehicles.

Motion: To Approve the quote from Traffic Control Services, Inc. for the purchase of 2 vehicle camera systems for the Sheriff’s Office vehicles in the amount of $13,024.20 to be paid from Fund 017-00-9013. Briggs/Martin 3-0

• I attended the Community Corrections Advisory Board meeting.

Controller Williams:
• Attended the Lyon County Extension Annual meeting.

• Worked with tax vendor on year end processing.

Clerk Vopat:
• I participated in the Red Stocking Breakfast on Saturday.
• I administered the oath of office for the newly elected Lyon County Extension Board members on Tuesday at the annual meeting.
• I attended the Public Information Officer quarterly meeting on Tuesday.
• Tomorrow I will attend the luncheon for the 2019 Leadership Graduation Ceremony. My Deputy Election Officer, Amie Jackson completed the leadership class.
• Next week I am sending Joe Torres to Kansas City for the Homestead Training Class.

Counselor Goodman:
• I participated in the Red Stocking Breakfast.
• RDA meeting is tomorrow.

Chip Woods presented Commissioners with a quote to update the surveying equipment; a request for Jim Brull to attend a conference; the comparison of expenses report; a bid for a trailer and asked for discussion on history of bridges. Chip commented that his department personnel does the surveying which is a cost saving for the county.
Motion: To Approve the quote from Ozark Laser & Shoring for a Sokkia iX-500 Robot RC and Hybrid setup in the amount of $28,140.00 to be paid from Fund 011-00-9001. Briggs/Slater 3-0
Note: The Road & Bridge Department performs their own surveying.

Motion: To Approve the low bid from D&L Trailers for a 2020 Diamond C 24-foot equipment trailer for $12,980.00 to be paid from Fund 011-00-9002.

Commissioners and Chip Woods also discussed correspondence with the Kansas State Historical Society on Historic Bridges. Commissioners gave Chip direction to proceed with determining a substitute bridge.

Motion: To Approve sending Jim Brull to the 2020 NACE Conference in Baldwin County, Alabama. Slater/Briggs 3-0

Steve Willis presented Commissioners with a request to consider the purchase of a smart board.

Motion: To Approve the purchase of a Smart Board for the Community Corrections Large Conference Room in the amount of $10,400.00 to be split between Lyon County Fund 010-11-9001 in the amount not to exceed $3,400.00, Adult KDOC and Juvenile KDOC funds. Briggs/Slater 3-0
Dan Williams presented Commissioners with the 2019 Lyon County Audit Commitment letter and to consider the cost of the audit by Agler & Gaeddert.

Motion: To Approve Controller Williams signing the Lyon County 2019 Audit Commitment Letter between Lyon County, Kansas and Agler & Gaeddert Chartered in the amount of $28,875.00 to be paid from Fund 010-01-7399. Martin/Briggs 3-0

Commissioners gave Controller Williams direction to proceed with the audit commitment letter.

Review board appointments for 2020.

Motion: To Appoint Luke Arndt to the Newman Regional Board of Trustees for a term expiring 12-31-2023. Martin/Slater 3-0
Note: This appointment will fill the position by Nancy Wells.

Motion: To move to Legal Executive Session for Confidential Data with Commissioners, Controller Williams, Counselor Halleran and Counselor Goodman, to return at 9:35 a.m. Martin/Briggs 3-0
