Bridge Laborer

Lyon County Community Corrections is searching for a part time Juvenile Intake Worker. This is a non-exempt position. The purpose of this position is to provide services for the state-mandated Juvenile Intake and Assessment Services, under the direction of the Kansas Department of Corrections-Juvenile Services. Election Clerk II

Lyon County Emergency Communications Center (LCECC) has an opening for Shift Supervisor.  This is a non-exempt position which begins at $17.18/hour plus benefits.  This is a working supervisor position in a newly consolidated Public Safety Answering Point that serves three law enforcement agencies, seven fire districts and a county-wide EMS.

LCECC is a progressive PSAP with a focus on customer service.  LCECC is on the State of Kansas NG911 platform, has a newly installed Zetron Max radio console system, and is implementing the APCO Adviser EMD/EPD/EFD program in 2016.

Applicants must have a GED or High School diploma and a minimum of three years’ experience in a 911 center.  Supervisor experience is preferred.  Experience with Spillman CAD is helpful.

LCECC Shift Supervisor

 

LYON COUNTY ATTORNEY’S OFFICE IS SEEKING a Victim Witness Coordinator.  This is a full-time non-exempt position.  This position is responsible for managing, coordinating, monitoring and providing case assistance for various legal cases within the County Attorney’s Office.  The Victim/Witness Coordinator will establish communications with victims, witnesses or their advocates, will advise them of their statutory rights, keep them informed of the status of files and provide them with information.  They will also locate witnesses required for effective prosecution and assist with case management.  This individual will assist and screen to the extent possible on behalf of the attorneys and/or channel patrons to the appropriate agency(s).  Creativity and compassion are a must!  High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent required.  Bachelor’s Degree in Paralegal, Social Work, Criminal Justice or related field and one year of experience; or AA Degree in Paralegal, Legal Assistant, Criminal Justice; or human/social services field and three years of experience in public or private social/human services or law office position; or five years of progressive related experience in public or private social/human services or law office position beyond high school experience, desired.

Victim Witness Coordinator

 

LYON COUNTY ATTORNEY – is seeking a Legal Secretary. This position provides legal secretarial support for the attorneys, office manager and coordinators of the department. The employee shall assist the County Attorney in maintaining attorney scheduling, preparation and maintenance of case files, oversee preparation and development of court pleadings at the district and appellate level, assist in case file preparation, prepare and file proceedings with the District Court, and other correspondence, etc. This position is responsible for performing a variety of legal secretarial duties.

LYON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE has Openings for Deputy Sheriff Positions:
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications for full-time non-exempt Sheriff’s Deputy Positions with overtime paid. Starting Pay $17.18 or determined by the Sheriff with prior experience.
Requirements: You must: 1) be a United States citizen; 2) have no felony convictions of any kind; and no conviction of certain misdemeanors, including domestic violence; 3) be a high school graduate, or the equivalent thereof; 4) be of good moral character; 5) pass psychological testing; 6) be free of any physical or mental condition which adversely affects the ability to perform the essential functions of a law enforcement officer; 7) be at least 21 years of age.
Preferred qualifications: Prior Law Enforcement experience with Current Kansas Law Enforcement Certification or ability to obtain Kansas Law Enforcement Certification.
Applicants must fully complete a truthful application, take and pass written Test. (Unless applicant is already currently Kansas Certified Law Enforcement Officer). Complete polygraph testing, pass background screening, pass physical test screenings, and alcohol and drug testing.

Lyon County Department on Aging & LCAT — are seeking Part-Time and On Call (PRN) Bus Drivers. The LCAT Public Transportation covers various Demand, County and Deviated Fixed Routes for the public. This position works closely with Management and Dispatch to coordinate, develop and engineer a better customer experience for the public. Requires interaction and communication with the public as well as some interaction with applicable state and federal agencies (KDOT) to provide input from the front line to Management on cost effective programs that meet the needs of residents served by the department.
This is a part-time non-exempt position responsible for the operation of public transit vehicles. Work hours are flexible and may range from 15 – 29 hours per week. Occasional Saturday work may be required.
Requires a driving record approved by the agency insuring the public transit vehicles. Must be able to pass a pre-employment KDOT transportation physical examination. Within a reasonable time after hire, employee must acquire a Commercial Kansas Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement, an American Red Cross First Aid / CPR card or equivalent and obtain a certificate of National Safety Defensive Driving Certificate.
