LYON COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT is seeking an equipment operator to grade county roads in northeast Lyon County. Must possess a Kansas Commercial Driver’s License and pass drug/physical tests. High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent required. Serious applicants only need apply. THE LYON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE – has a Full-Time opening for a permanent cook in the jail. This is a non-exempt, 40 hour per week position which starts at $9.72 per hour with Full County Benefits! The cook position works in the Correctional Institution environment, where security is always a priority and there is regular contact with inmate trustees. It does require regular entry into the secure areas of the jail. Appointment of this position requires successful completion of pre-employment background, physical and polygraph examinations and participates in the random drug and alcohol screening program.
