Lyon County Emergency Communications Center (LCECC) is recruiting career minded individuals to join our staff.  Entry level positions as a Call Taker are available starting at $12.00/hour.  We also have opening for persons with experience in Emergency Communications as a Communications Officer, starting at $14.20/hour.  Aggressive pay incentives exist for both positions with training and initiative.  Lyon County offers a complete benefits package including health insurance, uniforms, earned vacation and sick time, and much more.

LCECC operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, weekends and holidays included.  All employees may work nights, weekends, holidays, and/or varied shifts.

LYON COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT – has a full-time opening for a Parts Clerk in the county shop. This is a non-exempt position with full county benefits. The employee will be responsible for purchasing and maintaining inventory of parts and supplies, and maintain all shop and equipment maintenance records. This position requires strong computer and verbal/written communication skills. Must possess a valid Kansas driver’s license and pass drug/physical tests. Parts Clerk

Bridge Laborer

LYON COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT is seeking a mechanic to assist in the maintenance and repairs of numerous types of vehicles and equipment. Mechanic

LYON COUNTY COURT TRUSTEE – is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Legal Secretary. This position provides legal secretarial support for the attorney, office manager and coordinators of the department. The employee shall assist the County Trustee Counselor in maintaining attorney scheduling, preparation and maintenance of case files, oversee preparation and development of court pleadings at the district and appellate level, assist in case file preparation, take and transcribe dictated memos, prepare and file bankruptcy proceedings with the Bankruptcy Court, pleadings and other correspondence, etc. This position is responsible for performing a variety of legal secretarial duties.
Qualifications:
• Excellent organizational and follow up skills
• Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook (CPI and Billing Matters a plus)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple, competing priorities in an effective manner
• Ability to prioritize workload in order to meet deadlines
• Minimum typing speed of 60 wpm

Part-Time Legal Secretary

Lyon County Emergency Communications Center (LCECC) has an opening for Shift Supervisor.  This is a non-exempt position which begins at $17.18/hour plus benefits.  This is a working supervisor position in a newly consolidated Public Safety Answering Point that serves three law enforcement agencies, seven fire districts and a county-wide EMS.

LCECC is a progressive PSAP with a focus on customer service.  LCECC is on the State of Kansas NG911 platform, has a newly installed Zetron Max radio console system, and is implementing the APCO Adviser EMD/EPD/EFD program in 2016.

Applicants must have a GED or High School diploma and a minimum of three years’ experience in a 911 center.  Supervisor experience is preferred.  Experience with Spillman CAD is helpful.

This is a non-exempt, 40 hour per week position which starts at $14.60 per hour with Full County Benefits! The detention officer position works in the Correctional Institution environment, where security is always a priority and there is regular contact with inmates and inmate trustees. It does require regular entry into the secure areas of the jail.
