The first-ever Flint Hills Greener Living Show is being called a rousing success.
The two-day event began at the Fairgrounds Anderson Building with warm temperatures outside and a lot of vendors to choose from inside. Lyon County Extension horticulturist and event organizer Travis Carmichael says he’s pleased with the results, and that people have taken interest in the subject of greener living.
Besides nonprofit agencies, lawn and garden businesses, energy companies, Flint Hills Technical College nad other companies were represented. There were also a host of information sessions, including do-it-yourself greenhouses, lawn and tree care, home composting and pesticide label issues.
Carmichael says the committee will have a debriefing on this event, and will begin planning for next year’s show.
